Live a life worth living

Reaching out for support from a therapist can be difficult. Often when we finally decide to reach out we are already experiencing overwhelm and feeling discouraged. Raising Dandelions Counseling is a place for you to feel heard, validated, and supported during times of change, overwhelm, grief, and whatever life throws at you.

My mission as a therapist is to hold space for you on your healing journey, to challenge you gently, and to help you to create a life worth living. This is a place for children, teens, and adults. I am passionate about my work with all populations and have varying approaches depending on the age of each specific individual I treat.

Populations Served

Kids

If your little one (0-5) is having tantrums, nightmares, or other new behaviors, I can help. I will use methods that integrate the parent and child together in the therapy space to help create a sense of safety to help your child heal.

For older children I focus on the stories they carry with them or the beliefs about themselves or an event. Together we work toward healing in a way that makes sense to them whether that is play, art, talk therapy, or movement.

Tweens / Teens

When I work with tweens/teens I rely on relationship building and trust. They often have stories that they believe to be true about themselves such as “I am bad," “I’m not good enough” or “It’s my fault." These stories lead to behaviors including isolation, self harm, tantrums, anger outbursts, and impulsivity. I will create a safe space for your tween/teen to explore their feelings in a way that makes sense to them through play, art, talk therapy, humor, or other trauma focused treatment modalities.

Adults

We as adults also have stories that we believe to be true about ourselves. Often those stories come from a time when we were a much smaller version of ourselves in early childhood. We as humans carry traumas with us that we experience throughout our lives. Trauma can be defined as any time in our life that we have an emotional need that is not met. We might not remember all of these events but our body does; we may experience pain in our stomach, backs, shoulders, chest, etc. Our bodies tell a story and we need to work on listening.
